Important Citizen Alert: Keep Ballot Access Free In Ohio

TAKE ACTION! Call Kasich at 614-466-3555 and urge him to VETO SB296.

Gov. Kasich is deliberating whether to sign SB296, which is a bill on his desk that would require a citizen to post a mandatory cash bond with the courts to keep one or more polling places open. The bill, in addition to being dangerously similar to a poll tax, would require any court petitioner to show clear and convincing evidence that there’s no prospect of a fair election in the absence of a court order to keep the polls open on Election Day if/when unexpected problems arise. This bill would have a chilling effect on the preponderance of equality in voting and access to the ballot for all.

Gov. Kasich needs to hear from us that he should VETO SB296 and keep voting free! Call Governor Kasich at 614-466-3555 and leave a message with his office. Tell him that you’re an Ohio voter who wants him to VETO SB296.
